Nature Trail

Walk with our ranger along the banks of the Colin River up through the Glen within the 200 Acre Forest Park. Learn about the folklore, flora & fauna of the area. Learn about the history & natural history of the area. Go Fossil Hunting in the Riverbed, search for the Blackbull of Colin Glen and hide from the Highway man Ness O'Haughan. With spectacular views over Belfast, return and enjoy some walks on your own.

Directions to Location

How to get here: Travelling south from Belfast city on the M1 take the exit for Dunmurry / Finaghy. At the traffic lights at the foot of the slip road turn right and stay in the middle lane, journeying onwards through the traffic lights along Blacks Road for one mile. At the traffic lights at the T-junction at the top of the Blacks Road, turn left, travelling through the next set of traffic lights and then turning right after 100 metres into Colin Glen Forest Park.
